Australia Post offers three services when you require a reliable delivery service overseas for letters and documents:
- Air Mail - for standard delivery of letters and documents within 3 to 10 business days.
- Registered Post International – when you require signed proof of delivery.
- International Reply Paid - for a convenient response or return mechanism.
Air Mail
Air Mail is the standard service for letters and documents up to 500g, with delivery to virtually any address in the world. Delivery times vary depending on the destination.
Registered Post International
Registered Post International is an added security service for letters and documents up to 500g to almost any address in the world. Envelopes are available in two sizes, small (130 x 240mm) and large (250 x 353mm).
Features and Benefits include:
- Delivery to over almost 200 countries within 3 to 7 working days
- A single price to the world including envelope, postage and registration
- Each article has a unique identification number
- Proof of posting provided when lodged at a Post Office counter
- A signed record of delivery in most countries kept for twelve months
- Discounts available for bulk purchase
International Reply Paid
Reply Paid International is available worldwide for small letters up to 50g. With Reply Paid services, postage for your customer is free, and you pay only for the responses you receive.
The Reply Paid International Service can be used to generate sales leads or enquiries for further information, to encourage prompt payment of accounts or to generating responses to questionnaires.
Is Customs Documentation Required for Letters?
Articles that contain anything other than written correspondence OR contain items valued over $500 OR weigh more that 500g require customs documentation. Written correspondence or documents does not include book or magnetic or optical recording media such as tapes, cassettes, computer disks, compact disks and so on. All customs forms are available at Australia Post outlets.
